Violet is a very special girl.

She came into our foster with her family when she was about 1 day old.

Mom and siblings were adopted out but, Violet did not seem quite right.

She tested positive for FIV when less than 6 months old.

Was tested again later & it was also positive but, she is healthy and mostly normal.

Her "not-quite-rightness" continues but it is not really illness related, she's just different.

She is a friendly, affectionate girl and would love to have her own home & family so she did not have to compete with all the other foster cats for attention AND a life with less social stress will be better for her in the long run.

FIV is not a death sentence!!!! Positive cats can live as long & as healthy as any other cat with good care, many develop no symptoms until late in life.

They MUST be indoors only (to protect them & other cats as FIV is primarily spread by fighting cats & deep bite wounds) and their family must be aware that they may have a compromised immune system so may be more susceptible to illness.
